Phenomenal Cat - Pop Wasteland. OUT NOW!

You know that feeling when you bump into a friend you have not seen for ages and it is like you were only hanging out with them yesterday, the warmth they bring to your life, the love, the happiness, the laughs, the smiles, you know, all the good things in life?

Well, when Phenomenal Cat got in touch with me this week and sent me their new 24 track collection of songs, that is exactly what I felt and I really couldn't be happier.

For what seems like an eternity, I have been checking my mail for that new release from "The Cat" as their followers, including myself, often call them and alas the mail box has been empty.

The excitement I had when the band were releasing a single a month for a whole year, by no means an easy feat for any band, especially whilst maintaining such a high standard of craftmanship, was paramount to a child waiting for Christmas, imagine that happening once a month and then after a couple more releases, radio silence ensued as the band members concentrated on their families and everyday lives.

I can't tell you how long I have been waiting to hear this new material from the band that gives a nod and a wink to the song writing styles of The Kinks (the clue is in the name) with a sideways glance to the Britpop sounds of Blur.

Phenomenal Cat are a quintessentially English band hailing from the seaside town of Folkestone in Kent and now they are back.

POP WASTELAND is the second studio album by Phenomenal Cat and will be released on 22nd of April 2017 by Souvenir Music. It is a double album and the group's first rock opera with an accompanying graphic novel.

POP WASTELAND is a rock 'n' roll soundtrack with an accompanying graphic novel about a man who finds himself swept along in a crusade against the very establishment that made him. POP WASTELAND is the story, the legend if you will, of ALBERT BLOOD, a man whose life is about to be turned upside down by love, death, fear, murder and rock 'n' roll!

The album is narrated by iconic British actor, Kenneth Colley (Star Wars, The Life of Brian).

You will be able to find the album for a name your price download (as always, we encourage a donation to enable the bands to grow and make more music) here; Phenomenal Cat - Pop Wasteland There will also be a very limited physical release, including the graphic novel, available this summer, all details can be found at Bandcamp.
